Last Saturday Cheung Fai brought me to see two shows:

1. "琴愿?你" 斯琴格日勒 at 星光現場 http://www.thestarlive.com/ where is the same venue as last week "The 2nd Hand Rose". However, this time the audience sitting area was different from last week. It was more formal with rows of chairs, when comparing with last week, audiences could not dance with the music. I think the administration of this venue is quite professional, the setting is flexible to be changed according to the style of different performers.

2. Bandshow competition at 愚公移山 where is a small musical place many underground music bands and alternative international performers would like to play there.

Cheung Fai's gf (BJ girl) asked me why I took photos like the media photographer and I said it's my 職業病, I always did that in HK, hahaha. To be honest, here taking stage photos is very easy, nobody stop you to go in front of the stage if your photo gears looked professional.

After the hiking activity, we went to have lunch at a vegetarian restaurant in Holiday Inn, BJ. This is a very "exaggerated style" restaurant, the decoration and the dishes are very presentable but all are not matched when looking in detail. They use "dry ice" a lot. On the third photo, the fruits themselves are very cheap when buying at the street corner ($1~2), now looking very presentable. The food on the last photo is "false meat", again, imitation is a very strong ability in China.

Yesterday 22.10.06 Cherry, her colleagues and me went to see "red leaves". BJ ppl said now is the best time to see this beautiful scenery in 香山 where located out of the west side of BJ. However, we didn't find any beautiful scenery we "expected". When we walked close to the red leaves trees, we found that the shape of leaves were broken and the color was not that attractive. I think we need to choose a better lighting condition to see this scenery, may be during sunset is better. Anyway, it was still a good hiking activity.

Dear UST friends, see who I met last Saturday? It is unbelievable that Cherry and me haven't met for more than a year and now meet in BJ. She's now working as an IT audit professional in one of the big 4 audit companies in the world. Sure I don't know the details about her jobs, but I know this is the new profession after the e-commerce becomes popular in recent years.

Last Saturday 21.10.06 Cheung Fai brought me to a place called Star Light Live House where different musical activities performed every night. That night a rock band called "Second Hand Rose" performing very exciting and interesting music and songs. Their music full of local cultural elements; 東北二人轉(相聲)的音樂元素. This made me couldn't stop taking out my camera and shot. It is very good that nobody stop you to take photos in such kind of events in BJ.

It seems that here is not a place for luxury life but you can find warmth in the small communities. Simple life.

Pigeons flying exercise. My primary school was in Fortress Hill, North Point. I always watched pigeons flying outside when I lost my concentration in the class. I didn't know why they fly along a circular locus, repeat and repeat, non-stop.

Here is outside Yuen Ling's home in BJ, different groups of Pigeons flying along their loci without crashing together. It's long time without watching this scene in HK.
